Frequent Questions

What areas of my body can I treat?

This device can be used on body areas below the neck, including underarms, bikini line, arms, legs, chest and stomach. With the Facial Cap you can treat female facial hair on the cheeks, sideburns, chin, neck areas, and above the lips. Do not use on or around the eyes, eyebrows, or eyelashes.

How many treatments are needed?

Individual hairs go through a continuous growth cycles with phases of active growth and phases of rest. Like other laser or light-based treatments, the LumaRx™ device affects only hairs that are in the active growth phase. We recommend three initial treatments within a four-week period. Use periodic touch-up treatments to remove any remaining hair.

How long do treatments take?
Time varies based on the size of the area being treated, but you can treat small areas in less than two minutes and large areas, such as a full leg, in about 20 minutes.
How often can I treat my hair?
You should wait two weeks between treatments in each area. Use the Treatment Cards (located in back of the Use and Care Guide) to help you track your treatments.
Is LumaRx™ painful?

When used correctly, the most common feeling is a warm, mild tingling sensation. Some people also describe a sensation similar to a very light elastic snap on their skin.

How soon will I see results?

Rest assured, your device is working, but It does take time to treat individual hairs and to see the resulting hair fall out. You should start to see results about two weeks after your treatment.

*Permanent hair reduction is defined as the long-term, stable reduction in the number of hairs regrowing when measured at 6, 9, and 12 months after the completion of a treatment regimen. Individual results vary. In clinical testing on the body, the upper quartile of treatment sites averaged 94.3% fewer hairs after just three treatments. On average, participants had 66% fewer hairs 12 months after just three treatments.
